Quantum Gravity - Shortcomings of String Theories

Slide 56

Note
According to Smolin, writing in a review of Roger Penrose's "The Road to Reality" in the February "Physics Today", there has been a recent discovery that any string theory compatible with the observed positive cosmological constant offers a vast number of possible universes — at least 10500. So string theories may never be able to make any falsifiable predictions.
